The Modern Pinup Collection

Welcome to The Savvy Simmer, my blog for all things Sims-related!

For my first post I wanted to share my enthusiasm for all things pinup and rockabilly, combined with my favorite PC game of all time. I follow several wonderful, inspirational modern pinup models on social media, so it was only fitting for me to create Sim versions of them with which to populate my Newcrest neighborhood in TS4.

#1. Cherry Dollface
Cherry is my all-time favorite modern pinup girl. She's from sunny California, but she travels all around the world to do vintage hair and makeup classes on lucky ladies! It's a total geekout dream of mine to be styled and made up by this chick. She's so positive and upbeat; she also encourages aspiring models and is pretty quick to respond to fan mail. It's obvious she really cares about what she's doing and her reasons behind it. Cherry features a "Dollface Deed of the Week" on her promotional social media page that's always pretty cool to check out. Final plus? She's a big Tudor dork like I am. <3 I just freaking love her.

#2. Tess Holliday
Tess has been making waves all over the place! If you haven't heard of her, you've probably been living under a rock. She's the first size 22 model to be signed to any agency in the U.S., also from California. She's signed with London's MiLK agency as well, and I think she looks incredible in just about everything she puts on, be it skimpy lingerie or a brightly printed vintage style dress. Tess is, bluntly and beautifully, a woman with curves who knows how to rock them, and her sassy face delights me in just about every photo she posts. I did the best I could with my Sim version!

#3. The Vintage Doll
Also known professionally as Emily Doll, TVD is my second-favorite pinup of all time. While Tess is rocking the #fuckyourbeautystandards campaign that gives hope and confidence to bigger girls all over the world, Emily is straight up owning it for all the super tiny pale chicks like me. Emily was the first pinup who made me believe I could get into rockabilly modeling; she teaches people every single day that you don't have to have Marilyn Monroe's curves to be a gorgeous pinup model; you can be your skinny, naturally tiny self (if you're built that way) and chase your dreams in size six stilettos. Also, she's (at least currently) a single mom of two. She has incredible strength and resilience, and she seems like a pretty sweet chick, to boot. I spent a lot of time in CAS trying to do her face justice, and I think I did a pretty good job!

#4. Miss Dottie Squish
Miss Dottie hails from Vancouver, B.C. Her face reminds me of  Little Red's from Disney's Into the Woods, actually...
One of the coolest things about Miss Dottie is that she also has a mermaid alter ego model known as Ripple! I absolutely love all things mermaid, and she is another one who is very supportive and kind to other people looking to get into rockabilly culture.

Stay tuned for more pinups: Next one destined for my CAS screen is The Vintage Housewife, Nicole!
